Week 3 co-MVPs: Dimitris Diamantidis, Terence Morris
One of the most exciting weeks in Top 16 history came to an end with two players tying for the best individual performance in this round. Dimitris Diamantidis of Panathinaikos and Terence Morris of Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv shared co-MVP honours, each with a 29 index. Diamantidis had 17 points on 2-for-2 two-pointers, 3-for-4 triples and 4-for-4 free throws in his team's road loss against Montepaschi Siena. He added 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, a block and 4 fouls drawn to amass a 29 index. Morris had 16 points on 5-for-7 two-pointers in Maccabi's pivotal home win against Real Madrid. He added 15 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks for a 29 index. Marc Jackson of Olympiacos, Willie Solomon of Fenerbahce Ulker and Daniel Santiago of Unicaja also shined with week, each with a 26 index. Jackson had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Olympiacos to an overtime win against Zalgiris. Willie Solomon also helped Fenerbahce Ulker to down Lietuvos Rytas in overtime with 27 points and 7 assists. Meanwhile, Santiago had 20 points and 6 rebounds in Unicaja's home win against mighty CSKA Moscow.
Individual highs: Omer Asik of Fenerbahce Ulker, 5 blocks
Solomon was the Top 16 Week 3 best scorer with 27 points in his team's overtime home win against L. Rytas. He is also the Top 16 scoring leader at 21.3 points per game. His teammate Asik had 5 blocks in that game and also leads the Top 16 standings at 4 per game. Morris led all rebounder by pulling down 15 boards against Real Madrid. He is also the Top 16 best rebounder at 10.3 boards per night. Solomon, Pablo Prigioni of Tau Ceramica and Kerem Tunceri of Real Madrid each dished 7 assists this week. DeJuan Collins of Zalgiris Kaunas and Terrell McIntyre of Montepaschi Siena tie for first place in the Top 16 standings at 6.3 per game. Roderick Blakney of Olympiacos collected 4 steals, more than anyone this week. Trajan Langdon leads the steals standings at 3.67 per game. Only Jackson and Morris registered respective double-doubles this week.
