Nike IJT Belgrade Game Report: Benetton 46-80 Partizan Igokea
Bogdan Riynic - JT Partizan Igokea Partizan Igokea made it three from three for Serbian teams in the tournament as they sent Benetton Treviso to their second straight defeat, 46-80. The game only had one colour, and that colour was white as a balanced attack saw four players reach double figure points for Partizan. With the loss Benetton will be playing for 9th-12th place on Saturday and Sunday, whilst Partizan will play Lietuvos Rytas later today for a winner takes all showdown. Bogdan Riznic and Nemanja Jaramay tied with a 21 index ranking for the winners, whilst Jakub Wojchekowski had 6 and 10 for Benetton. After a close beginning, Partizan put together a 0-8 run in the middle of the quarter to register a 7-15 lead after being tied. Bilic was 4 for 4 from the field as the score after 10 minutes reached 10-17. They continued this run with 10 unanswered points, this time Jaramay hitting back to back baskets taking his team to 12-27 at the midpoint of the quarter. Benetton relied on guard Loschi to keep them within something resembling shouting distance, hitting a three at the buzzer as the teams went into the locker rooms 16 apart, 21-37. Riznic was able to show why he recently signed a pro contract with Partizan piling on the points as the team from Belgrade extended their already unasailable lead to 34-59. The serbs carried on from where they left off in the fourth, playing through the game and ending on a high, 46-80 winners.
