Nike IJT Belgrade Game Report: FMP 97-84 Red Star
Bojan Subotic - FMP KK FMP Zeleznik will play in the finals of the Nike Junior Tournament in Belgrade, Serbia after a convincing 97-84 win over Red Star Belgrade in the tournament's first semi-finals. FMP, the hosting club of the competition, took off in the second quarter and never allowed its opponent back in the game. A close first quarter saw Red Star holding a 22-23 lead after ten minutes with three pointers by Marko Loncovic and Dusan Milosevic. FMP's power forward Bojan Subotic stepped up and in a short period nailed three catch-and-shoot long range jumpers, to give his team a 47-38 lead at half time. Andreja Miluntinovic slashed Red Star's defense all the way to the rim and despite a big second half by Aleksander Stevovic, FMP's lead was stable. Branislav Dekic came off the bench for FMP in the last quarter and showed his set of tools and after several unsportsmanlike fouls by Red Star the difference came close to 20. No less than four Red Star fans fouled out before the final buzzer locked the scoreboard on a 13 point difference game. Subotic was the top scorer with 21 points, ten rebounds and three assists, Svetozar Stamenkovic had 17 points with seven rebounds, Milutinovic added 13 with four assists and Dejan Musli contrinued 11 points and seven boards, most of that already in the first half. Milosevic led Red Star with 19 points and Marko Loncovic had 18.
