Efes Pilsen, head coach David Blatt split up
Efes Pilsen Istanbul and David Blatt parted ways by mutual agreement Sunday after the team suffered a 77-81 defeat at the hands of Pinar Karsiyaka at the Abdi Ipekci Sports Hall. Efes Pilsen General Manager Engin Ozerhun said that the club discussed the situation with Blatt after the game and they reached a mutual decision. Ozerhun said "Our results this season both in Turkey and Euroleague have not satisfied us. We decided to discuss the situation after the game against Pinar Karsiyaka and parted the ways with Mr. Blatt in mutual understanding. We thank to Mr. Blatt for his partnership." Ozerhun also said that assistant coach Ekrem Memnun will take over as interim head coach for the reminder of the season.
