One of the best point guards in Europe is set to make his Euroleague return next season, as reigning ULEB Cup champion DKV Joventut has announced that it exercised its option to keep Demond Mallet for one more season. Mallet (183, 30) averaged 13.6 points on 48.5% three-pointers, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 17 ULEB Cup games last season. He had 26 points on 3-for-3 two-pointers and 6-for-8 triples in the ULEB Cup title game against Akasvayu Girona. Mallet has also played for several German teams such as RheinEnergie Cologne, Bamberg and Braunschweig. He also helped Joventut to win the Spanish King's Cup and reach the Spanish League semifinals. Mallet also won the 2005 German League title with Bamberg and the 2007 German Cup with RheinEnergie, earning MVP honours in the final.
