CSKA Moscow signs Viktor Keyru
CSKA Moscow has taken another step to put together its roster for 2008-09 by inking small forward Viktor Keyru to a one-year deal, with an option to extend it for an extra season. Keyru (200, 24) arrives from Unics Kazan, where he averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 15 ULEB Cup games last season, helping the team to make it to the Final Eight. Keyru has also played for Dynamo St.Petersburg and Spartak Primorie in his native Russia. He helped Dynamo St. Petersburg to reach the FIBA EuroCup final four in 2006 and also made it to the Russian Cup final with Unics in 2005. Keyru has also been a member of the Russian under-20 and under-21 national team. In other CSKA news, assistant coach Evgeni Pashutin has left the team after four seasons with the team. Pashutin a former CSKA player, whose brother Zakhar still plays for the club, has become the head coach at Spartak St. Petersburg, the team where he played for from 1990 to 1993.
