Jerusalem names Guy Goodes head coach
Hapoel Jerusalem has hired Guy Goodes as its new head coach. Goodes, 37, arrives from Euroleague runner-up Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he has served as an assistant for the past two seasons. He signed a one-year contract with a team option for a second season. Goodes's previous head coaching experience was a season with Maccabi Rishon Lezion, which he led to the Israeli League final four. Goodes had a distinguished playing career as a point guard mostly at Maccabi Tel Aviv in the 1990s before knee injuries forced him to retire.
"I’m very happy to be in Hapoel Jerusalem," Goodes told the club's website. "It's a big club with great fans. This club should be in the highest levels and I hope that together we’ll accomplish big things."
