Armani Jeans inks Marco Mordente, Ariel Filloy
Armani Jeans Milano has set the basis to have a steady backcourt in the near future by signing playmaker Ariel Filloy and combo guard Marco Mordente to respective multi-year deals. Filloy (192, 21) inked a four-year deal while Mordente (192, 29) signed a three-year contract with the Italian powerhouse. Mordente arrives from Benetton Treviso, where he averaged 5.3 points on 54.5% three-pointers in 10 ULEB Cup games last season, helping the team to win its regular season group. He is set to return to Milano, as Mordente already played for the club since the start of his career until the end of the 2001-02 season, when he joined Reggio Emilia for three years. Mordente helped Benetton to win the 2006 Italian League and the 2007 Italian Cup titles,. He is also a regular member of his national team. Meanwhile, Filloy arrives from Rimini, where he averaged 6.8 points and 1.9 assists in in 33 Italian second division games. He has also played for Sassari and Porto Torres, as well as being a member of the under-20 Italian national team.
