Alba Berlin roster starts to take shape
Alba Berlin's roster for its Euroleague return began to take shape Thursday with three players coming and four going. The club announced that it has exercised an option to keep forward Dragan Dojcin with the club for a further season and that promising junior players Andreas Seiferth and Oliver Clay have joined the senior squad. Meanwhile Goran Nikolic, Mladen Pantic, Aleksandar Rasic and Yannick Evans will not continue in Berlin.
Dojcin (204, 32) was a dependable reserve for the German champs last season, his first with the club. The veteran averaged 15 minutes per game in seven ULEB Cup performances. He played a larger role in the domestic league, averaging 5.5 points and 3.2 rebounds over 21 minutes in 28 appearances. Dojcin has also played for Zdravlje Leskovac and Atlas Belgrade in his native Serbia, Pivovarna Lasko in Slovenia, Khimik OPZ Yuzny in Ukraine and Panionios Athens in Greece during his career. Seiferth (206, 19) and Clay (205, 20) played for the club’s ProB team, TuS Lichterfelde, last season. Seiferth shined with 14.7 points and 8 rebounds per game and Clay added 8.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per outing.
