Le Mans lands David Bluthenthal
David Bluthenthal - Maccabi Elite A former Euroleague champion switched teams on Wednesday, when Le Mans announced that David Bluthenthal inked a one-year deal with the French powerhouse. Bluthenthal (201, 27) averaged 8.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 25 Euroleague games last season, helping Maccabi Tel Aviv to make it to the final against CSKA Moscow. Bluthenthal had already won the Euroleague title with Maccabi in 2004, scoring 20 points off the bench in the title game against Skipper Bologna. He has also played for Virtus Bologna, Benetton Treviso and Fortitudo Bologna in Italy, the Sacramento Kings in the NBA and Dynamo St.Petersburg in Russia. Bluthenthal also helped Maccabi to win consecutive Israeli League titles in 2003 and 2004, as well as lifting the Italian Cup trophy with Benetton in 2005. Bluthenthal replaces Luka Bogdanovic, who joined DKV Joventut earlier this month.
