DKV Joventut inks Simas Jasaitis
A talented small forward switched Euroleague teams on Friday when DKV Joventut announced that Simas Jasaitis signed a one-year deal with the Spanish powerhouse. Jasaitis (202, 26) arrives from Tau Ceramica, where he averaged 4.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 21 Euroleague games last season. He helped the team to reach its fouth consecutive Euroleague Final Four, win the Spanish Supercup and the Spanish League. Jasaitis has also played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, as well as for Lietuvos Rytas and Sakalai in his native Lithuania, where he is a regular member of his national team. Jasaitis won the Israeli League title with Maccabi in 2007. He also won two Lithuanian League titles in 2002 and 2006, as well as lifting the 2006 Baltic League, the 2002 NEBL and above all, the 2005 ULEB Cup trophies. Jasaitis replaces Lubos Barton, who inked a three-year deal with FC Barcelona.
