Olympiacos invests in teen forward Karathanasis

Olympiacos has announced the arrival of teenage prospect Ioannis Karathanasis, who inked a five-year deal with the Reds. Karathanasis (200, 17) is one of the most promising forwards in European basketball and arrives from Asteria Basketball Academy in Thessaloniki. He helped Greece to win the Albert Schweitzer International Tournament last season. Karathanasis has already been a member of the under-16 and under-18 Greek national teams.
