Loren Woods comes back to Zalgiris
Loren WoodsZalgiris Kaunas has signed center Loren Woods to a two-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. Woods (214, 30) played half a season for Zalgiris in 2007, helping the team win the Lithuanian championship. He split time last season between Efes Pilsen in Turkey and Houston in the NBA. Woods had a contract for another season with Houston, but asked to be released in order to rejoin Zalgiris. He ranked among the regular season top 10 in both rebounding and blocked shots for Efes last season and averaged 8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 16 Euroleague games overall. Woods was named the Regular Season, Week 11 MVP after recording 16 points and 18 rebounds at Le Mans. He has also played for Minnesota, Miami and Toronto in the NBA during his professional career.
