Prokom tabs Ronnie Burrell, releases Milan Gurovic
Polish League champion
Prokom Trefl Sopot announced Friday that power forward Ronnie Burrell has inked a one-year deal with the club. Burrell (204, 25) arrives from Telekom Baskets Bonn, where he averaged 12.4 points and 5 rebounds in 45 German League games last season, helping his team advance to the final series against Alba Berlin. He had previously played for RheinEnergie Koeln, also in Germany, averaging 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 10 Euroleague games and earning weekly MVP honors once in the 2006-07 season. Burrell has also played for Levallois in France and Gainesville in the WBA. He helped RheinEnergie win the German Cup title in 2007. Prokom has also reached an agreement with Milan Gurovic to terminate his contract. Gurovic helped Prokom win the Polish League titles last season. He had 36 points in do-or-die Game 7 against Turow to lead Prokom to a 70-76 road win that meant its fifth consecutive Polish League championship.
