Alba adds point guard Rashad Wright
Rashad Wright Alba Berlin has turned to Rashad Wright to play point guard in its return to the Euroleague, the club announced Tuesday. Wright (189, 26) arrives from Turkish power Efes Pilsen, where his season was cut short by injuries last season. He signed a one-year contract with a team option for a second season. Alongside Steffen Hamann, Wright gives head coach Luka Pavicevic two options at point guard. Wright is experienced at the top levels in Europe, having played two seasons in the ULEB Cup before joining Efes. He was sixth in the 2006-07 ULEB Cup in scoring after recording 17.4 points and 3.5 assists per game with Base Oostende. Wright began his professional career in Greece with Panionios in 2004 following a successful college basketball career at the University of Georgia. He then played a season each with Hemofarm in Serbia and Oostende in Belgium, winning the domestic championship with the latter in 2007.
