A blue-collar swingman switched Euroleague teams on Tuesday when Armani Jeans Milano announced that David Hawkins inked a one-year deal with his new team. Hawkins (195, 25) arrives from Lottomatica Roma, where he has played for the best part of the last four seasons. He averaged 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals in 20 Euroleague games last season, helping Lottomatica to make it to the Euroleague Top 16 and the Italian League finals. Hawkins also reached the Italian League semifianls for three consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2007, as well as reaching the ULEB Cup quarterfinals in the 2005-06 season, in which he led the competition in steals (3 spg.) and was its third top scorer (18.5 ppg.). Hawkins has also played for Rieti in Italy since finishing his college career at Temple University (NCAA). Hawkins is ready to take its intensity and versatility to Milano next season.
