Cibona brings back Markota

Damir Markota - Zalgiris (zalgiris.lt)Cibona Zagreb keeps reeling back its own former players with the addition on Thursday of power forward Damir Markota to the team's 2008-09 Euroleague roster. Markota (208, 22) spent four previous seasons with Cibona, debuting in the Euroleague with a single brief appearance one month after his 16th birthday. His return to Cibona for three more seasons starting in 2003 was highlighted by a Top 16 run in 2005-06 as he averaged 7.8 points and 5.1 rebounds as one of the Euroleague's top performers off the bench. Markota played the 2006-07 season with Milwaukee of the NBA, appearing for an average of 5.7 minutes in 30 games. Markota returned to Europe with Spartak St. Petersburg of Russia last season, but moved to Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania in mid-season, averaging 3.5 points and 2 rebounds in the Top 16.
