Fenerbahce Ulker lands shooter Giricek
Gordan Giricek - Fenerbahce Ulker Another former Euroleague star is returning home to Europe with the announcement on Tuesday that Fenerbahce Ulker has signed shooting star Gordan Giricek to a two-year contract. Giricek (199, 31) last played in the Euroleague for CSKA Moscow in 2001-02, finishing second that season in scoring behind the late Alphonso Ford. Since 2002-03, Giricek has played for five NBA teams - Memphis, Orlando, Utah Philadelphia and Phoenix - in six seasons, averaging 9.6 points in 23 minutes per game over the years. He was a double-digit scorer in his first two full NBA seasons and ranks fifth for the most points, 29, in his debut game in the league. Fenerbahce becomes Giricek's third Euroleague team. Previous to his single season at CSKA, Giricek played several years in his native Croatia for Cibona Zagreb. Giricek helped shoot Cibona to five straight Croatian League titles between 1997 and 2001.
