Barcelona, Kasun part ways
FC Barcelona announced on Tuesday that it has parted ways with center Mario Kasun. Club and player agreed to rescind what had been a their three-year contract after two seasons. Kasun (216, 28) played only parts of the those two seasons due to health problems. Kasun was among the Euroleague's top 35 scorers with 12.7 points per game during the last regular season, but missed the final two games of that phase while undergoing treatment for heart arrhythmia he suffered during a domestic league game. In the 2006-07 season, his first with Barcelona, Kasun put up 11.9 points on average in eight Euroleague games, but was otherwise injured. Kasun had come to Barcelona from Orlando of the NBA after having played previously in Frankfurt Skyliners and RheinEnergie Cologne of Germany. He started career in his native Croatia with Delnice and KK Zrinjevac.
