Alba completes roster with Jacobsen
Alba Berlin completed its roster for its Euroleague comeback this season on Thursday with the addition of American forward Casey Jacobsen (198, 27) for the next campaign. Jacobsen arrives from the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA where last season he averaged 2.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 53 appearances. Jacobsen played college ball in Stanford with which he played the NCAA Final Eight in 2001. He finished his play there becoming the college third best scorer ever. He was drafted in 2002 by the Phoenix Suns. He also played for the New Orleans Hornets and the Memphis Grizzlies for as total 287 games but in 2005, Jacobsen crossed the pond to play in Spain with Tau Ceramica, taking the 2006 Spanish King's Cup. He also was Spanish League runner-up and reached the Euroleague Final Four with Tau. That season, Jacobsen averaged 9.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in the Euroleague. In January 2007, he moved to Germany to play for GHP Bamberg as he averaged 17.0 points, 3.7 boards and 2.9 assists to lead the team to the German title as he was chosen MVP of the Finals.
