Barça goes big with Santiago
Regal F.C. Barcelona made a move to shore up its frontcourt Wednesday, signing veteran center Daniel Santiago. A major presence since he arrived to the Euroleague in 2005, Santiago (216, 32) spent the last three seasons helping Unicaja reach its first-ever Final Four and winning its first Spanish League crown. Santiago averaged a high of 12.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in his first season, playing 25 minutes per game. He ranked 10th among all Euroleague players with an average 15.4 performance index rating. The next season, he put up 11.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks, but couldn't join Unicaja at the Final Four after suffering an injury in the Quarterfinal Playoffs. Last season, his numbers were 9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.7 blocks.
