Efes inks big man Jones
Dwayne JonesThe morning after improving to 2-0 in regular season Group D, Efes Pilsen addressed its injury problems in the frontcourt by signing center Dwayne Jones for the rest of the season. Jones (211, 25) spent the last two seasons with Cleveland of the NBA, averaging 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 points in 8 minutes per game over 56 appearances last season, including five times in the playoffs. The season before that, Jones played in only four games total, and his rookie season, 2005-06 with Boston, he made 14 appearances. In his last season at St. Joseph's University, Jones was the fifth-best rebounder (11.6 rpg.) and shot-blocker (3 bpg.) in the NCAA's first division. The signing of Jones became a priority for Efes following the news a day earlier that center Mario Kasun needed surgery for a broken wrist that will keep him out of action three months.
