Week 4 MVP: Mike Hall, AJ Milano
Mike Hall - AJ MilanoHis team was on the verge of one of the biggest upsets of the season, but when it didn't happen, Armani Jeans Milano got the consolation prize of seeing Mike Hall earn MVP honors for Week 4 of the regular season. One of the great rivalries in European basketball history lived up to its tradition as Real Madrid won at home against Milano 70-69 on Lou Bullock's intrepid layup with 3.8 seconds remaining. Hall had helped Milano stay close all game and made his team's go-ahead free throws just before the final minute started. He would finish the game with a game-high 21 points and team-high 9 rebounds, making 3 of his 4 two-point shots, 3 of 6 from the three-point arc, and all 6 of his free throw opportunities. It all added up to a performance index rating of 28, best of the week among all Euroleague players. Following him was none other than Igor Rakocevic, the Week 3 MVP, who posted a 27 index rating while scoring 21 of his 23 points in the second half of a losing effort against Lottomatica Roma. Another near-perfect shooting night saw Rakocevic down 6 of 7 two-pointers, 1 of 2 triples and 8 of 8 free throws. In that same game, Sani Becirovic had a 26 index rating based on 23 points and 11-for-12 free-throw shooting to lead Lottomatica to its 90-93 upset win against Tau on the road. Also amassing a 26 index rating was Luke Bogdanovic of DKV Joventut, who scored all of his 21 points on 7-for-12 three-point shooting and pulled 9 rebounds despite his team's road loss at Alba Berlin. Zoran Planinic of CSKA Moscow, who had a 25 index during his team's three-point shootout victory over Efes Pilsen, completed the top individual performances for Week 4.

Individual highs: Dewarick Spencer of Le Mans, 26 points

Spencer was the top scorer in Week 4 with 26 points in Le Mans' road loss at Air Avellino. Rakocevic remains as the overall Euroleague top scorer after four games with an average of 21.8 points. Miha Zupan of Union Olimpija led all rebounders by pulling down 12 in his team's double-overtime road loss against Fenerbahce Ulker. Mirsad Turkcan, who grabbed 11 boards against Olimpija, leads the standings with 9.5 rebounds per game. It comes as no surprise, as Turkcan is the Euroleague's all-time top rebounder. Planinic dished 8 assists in CSKA's home win against Efes Pilsen. Demond Mallet of DKV Joventut and Omar Cook of Unicaja tie atop the assists list at 5.3 per game. Daniel Ewing of Asseco Prokom, his teammate David Logan, Planinic and Dainius Salenga of Zalgiris each collected 4 steals. Logan is the overall steals leader, too, at 2.75 per game. Slavko Vranes of Partizan, the tallest player in the Euroleague, had 5 blocks against Panionios On Telecoms, more than anyone this week. Terence Morris of CSKA remains the top overall shot-blocker with 3 per game. Only three players - Turkcan, Zupan and Adam Chubb of Alba Berlin - registered double-doubles this week.
