Tau releases forward Fajardo
Tau Ceramica on Monday announced the departure of power forward Diego Fajardo by mutual agreement between the player and the club. Fajardo (208, 30) had joined Tau late in the preseason to fill in for injured players and came off the bench to help the team in two of its three Euroleague victories so far. Fajardo scored 6 points in 11 minutes against Dynamo Moscow and 7 in 12 minutes against RheinEnergie Cologne. Fajardo had previously been a part-time starter throughout the 2005-06 Euroleague season with Armani Jeans Milano, averaging 7.1 points and 4.2 rebounnds in 18 minutes per game. In its announcement, Tau indicated that Fajardo sought his release because he expected to sign imminently with another Spanish League team.
