Marcus Fizer returns to Maccabi
Marcus Fizer - MaccabiMaccabi Electra Tel Aviv and Marcus Fizer have reached a new agreement that will enable both sides to start another chapter. The big man suffered a knee injury playing for the club during the Top 16 opener last season and is still recovering from that injury and the resulting surgery. Maccabi released the player during the preseason, but the sides have come to terms on a new agreement and his return to the team will be decided based upon his physical condition in the coming weeks. Fizer landed back in Israel on Sunday to continue his rehabilitation with Maccabi's medical staff. "It's good to be back home," Fizer said. "I don’t know when I’ll be able to play again, but I’ll try to get back in the game as fast as I can."

Fizer is scheduled to be examined by the surgeon who operated on him a few months ago and be under the close supervision of Maccabi's physiotherapist, Rafi Virshuvski. "The operation on Marcus’s knee was successful," said Virshuvski. "The problem is the knee needs to be strengthened. Right now, there’s little-to-no strength in the knee, and it can’t support much weight, particularly that of Marcus himself." According to Virshuvski, Fizer is expected to be back on court in late December if the rehabilitation goes as planned.
