Efes brings back Drobnjak
A decade after he first landed on the same team, veteran center Predrag Drobnjak is returning to Efes Pilsen with a contract for the remainder of the season, the club announced Friday. Drobnjak (212, 33) first played for Efes from 1998 to 2001 and returns now to help the team extricate itself from a three-way tie for third place in Euroleague regular season Group D after a three-game losing streak. In his first stint with the Istanbul club, Drobnjak helped Efes become the first-ever Turkish team to reach a Final Four in 2000 and 2001. He left to play in the NBA for Seattle, the Los Angeles Clippers and Atlanta, returning to Europe in 2005 to reach the Final Four again with Tau Ceramica of Spain. The last three seasons he has played with Partizan Belgrade, his first professional club from 1992 to 1997, as well as with Girona of Spain and Besiktas Cola Turka of Turkey, last season, averaging 8.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in five ULEB Cup matches, 8.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in the Turkish League.
