Efes Pilsen adds guard Cliff Hammonds

Cliff Hammonds (Photo: clemsontigers.com)Efes Pilsen has signed guard Cliff Hammonds from Darussafaka Cooper Tires for the reminder of the Euroleague season. Hammonds (190, 23) was on trial with Efes during the preseason before signing for Darussafaka, where he averaged 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists over 37 minutes in eight Turkish League appearances. This is Hammonds’s first season as a professional after four standout seasons of college basketball at Clemson University. He averaged 11.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 34 games as a senior last season. Hammonds was a four-year starter at Clemson and finished his college career among the school’s all-time top 10 in games played, starts, three-point field goals made, steals and assists. He was honored at the end of last season with the NCAA Sportsmanship Award and the "Skip" Prosser Award, emblematic of the top scholar-athlete in men's college basketball.
