Reds' Bourousis returns without operation
Olympiacos will not miss center Ioannis Bourousis after all. The 25-year old power forward was diagnosed in late December with a rupture of the internal meniscus of his left knee that was going to require surgery and keep him out of action for 40 days. Instead, Bourousis finally decided to avoid the operation and follow a conservative treatment in order to help his team both in the Greek League and the Euroleague. Bourousis told team doctors late last week that he felt better, and so immediately returned to practice and surprised everyone by appearing in a weekend Greek League game against Panellinios. He played 14 minutes and posted 10 points. He will also be travelling to Tel Aviv to play Thursday against Maccabi Electra, where an Olympiacos victory could be enough to clinch first place in Group A. Bourousis has been a pilar of the team's success, leading the Reds in rebounds with 7.5 per game and ranking second in scoring with 12.6 points on average.
