HEAD COACH ANALYSIS: TOMAS PACESAS, ASSECO PROKOM
Tomas Pacesas - Asseco Prokom"We've had a very tough season until now. Asseco Prokom is a very young team and we are very happy that we made it to the Top 16. At the same time, this is a big challenge for us. It is always an outstanding experience to play in the Top 16. At the same time, we have a very tough schedule in the Polish League, because being the reigning champions, everybody wants to beat us. It is very tough for us to play right now, we have some injury problems, but every team has those kind of troubles, too."

"I think that Tau Ceramica, like Barcelona in the regular season, are teams that play at the highest level in Europe. Both teams have shown in the Euroleague and in the Spanish League what we can expect from them. Tau is one of the best, if not the best team in Europe at the moment. Of course, it will be really difficult to play against them, but like I said before, this is a good experience for us. As for Olympiacos, everyone is waiting for them to qualify. When they were building the team in the preseason everyone talked about the Final Four and big targets. It is a big name in European basketball, a big club, with a good budget, a great coach and experienced players. Tau and Olympiacos are the favorite teams in our group. Of course, we will fight against them just like we did against Montepaschi Siena, Barcelona and Panathinaikos in the regular season. We will show our character and determination against them. We already faced Armani Jeans before, beating them twice several years ago. Of course, both teams are completely different now. I think they are on the right path and showed they were able to beat CSKA, which says enough. Milano is an excellent team. There are no bad teams in this group and everyone will be tough to beat, that's for sure."

"This is my first full Euroleague season and it is difficult, of course. Building the team is a big responsibility. I have to teach and understand players and everything. The fact that I played point guard throughout my career makes things much easier for me. The team and our supporters expect us to fight in the Top 16, the same fight that we had in the regular season. We are facing big names and big clubs, but we will give our best in every game. Prokom will not be an easy opponent for anybody."
PLAYER ANALYSIS: TIAGO SPLITTER, TAU CERAMICA
Tiago Splitter - Tau Ceramica"It was important for us to win our regular season group. We managed to do it by beating Lottomatica Roma on the road. The team only lost two games in the entire regular season, against Joventut and Lottomatica, but we managed to overcome them and finish first. We didn't need any major adjustments in the beginning of the season because most of the players that were here last season returned this summer. Everyone knows each other very well and that is good for us. Some of us had also worked for Dusko Ivanovic in the past, too. I think that we play more aggressive with Dusko now, especially in defense. We lost some games last season that we don't lose this season."

"Looking at our opponents and starting with Asseco Prokom, we cannot underestimate them at all. It is maybe the most complicated trip that we will have so far this season and that is something to consider. We have to be solid at home, which is key in the Euroleague. We have always been strong at home and that has been very important for us throughout the years. As for Armani Jeans, Milano is a city with great basketball tradition. I think that they are willing to show their talent, especially players like Massimo Bulleri. They have experienced players that know what it takes to do well in this competition. Olympiacos is another top team with a deep, incredible roster. Their only goal is to make it to the Final Four. We will have to play really well to beat them. They have Nikola Vujcic this season. He is very talented, very smart and reads the game really well. Not only does he score, but he passes the balls really well. He is a dangerous player. Sofoklis Schortsianitis is a force of nature, a big, strong center, very hard to stop. They have a lot of talented players. Even though Josh Childress is out now, they still have Theo Papaloukas and his dominating court vision. He always shows his leadership in important games."

"I feel comfortable this season. The only problems came in the beginning of the season, when I was injured. I was sidelined for a while but returned to action, got back in shape and I feel fully recovered now. We have to keep playing the way we did so far, and even better. We have to try to get our chances to win titles. We will fight for every title out there, that is our philosophy: To go game by game and see how far we can get in the end."
OUTSIDER ANALYSIS: IVAN ZOROSKI, PANIONIOS ON TELECOMS
Ivan Zoroski - Panionios On Telecoms"We are a little sorry, because we thought we had a chance to put Panionios in the Top 16 in its first Euroleague season. Before the competition started, I think nobody expected us to play the kind of basketball we played. People thought we would be easy for all the big teams, but we showed good basketball when we were healthy. In the first half, we had a lot of injuries and couldn't get our rhythm. After that, we played some very good games against Efes on the road and beating Real Madrid at home, which gave us our chances. We can be sorry for missing that chance, but we can also be satisfied for our performance in the club's first time in the Euroleague.

"In this new group, in my opinion, Tau Ceramica and Olympiacos start out above the other two teams and it looks like a fight for the first position between them. I have seen mostly clips of Tau Ceramica, but it is clear that they are once again one of the strongest teams out there, both in the Euroleague and the Spanish League. They have a great Igor Rakocevic now, and his is playing unbelievable basketball. Considering what they have done in recent years, and their experience in the Final Four, they are one of the favorites not only to advance, but to win the Euroleague. Olympiacos is a great team with a huge roster that plays especially well on its home court. Of course, they have now the news of the injury to Josh Childress, and they are going to miss him, so the question for them is how are they going to play without him. But I think even without him they will be a favorite to advance to the playoffs. Milano was a little bit of a surprise for some people - including us, since we probably should have beat them early in the season in Milan, since we were the better team during the whole game, and probably lost our Top 16 chances there - but they finished strong. They are a team with great shooters, and if those shooters find their rhythm, especially on their home court, they could play well enough to win games. They have already shown that by beating CSKA and Real Madrid at home, so they continue to be a dangerous team for any opponent, I think. I know less about Prokom, and since they got to the Top 16 without many wins, it's probably going to be difficult for them there. They must play well at home and try to get an early win that can give them confidence the rest of the Top 16. Still, I will stick with my expectation, which is that Tau and Olympiacos will advance to the playoffs."
