Benetton inks guard Daniel Hackett
Daniel Hackett Benetton Treviso continued to put together a strong roster for the 2009-10 Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by inking young guard Daniel Hackett to a one-year deal, the club confirmed Tuesday. Hackett (196, 21) arrives from the University of Southern California, where he averaged 12.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 35 NCAA games last season, helping his team win the Pac-10 Tournament. Hackett also has played for Scavolini Pesaro's cadet team. Hackett helped Italy to win the bronze medal at the 2007 European under-20 Championships played in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. His father, Rudy Hackett, played for nine years in Italian basketball with teams like P.S.Giorgio, Reggio Emilia, Livorno and Forli.
