Hukic leaves Olimpija, joins Benetton

Veteran small forward Jasmin Hukic terminated his contract with Union Olimpija and quickly signed with Benetton Basket Treviso, the two teams confirmed Wednesday. Hukic (202, 29) has spent four seasons overall at Olimpija, including the last two. Last season he averaged 6.3 points in six Euroleague games in an injury-shortened campaign. By the end of the season, he posted 10.2 points per game in the Slovenian League, helping Olimpija defend its domestic title. Hukic grew up with BC Sloboda Dita Tuzla in his native Bosnia-Herzegovina and has also played for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, Hemofarm Vrsac in Serbia, Ural Great Perm in Russia and Asseco Prokom in Poland. Among his career highlights are winning the Adriatic League twice in addition to three Slovenian League championships, one Bosnian League title, one Polish championship and the FIBA Eurocup Challenge. He also has four Slovenian Cups and two Bosnian Cups. Hukic represented his native Bosnia at the 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 European Championships.
