Fantasy Challenge Week 10 rundown

Fantasy     Challenge Another week, another challenge for more than 60,000 teams in Euroleague Basketball Fantasy Challenge! In addition to the 40,000 teams that started the season - double last year's total on opening day - more than 20,000 new teams have been created since. That means that Fantasy Challenge is way more popular than in any previous edition. Remember that you can register all season long for Fantasy Challenge. Have fun with your friends, win prizes and compete against guest stars Anthony Parker and Sergio Garcia! The grand prize winner gets the chance to go to the 2007 Euroleague Final Four in Athens! For established teams, three weekly player changes are allowed during the regular season. The next deadline for player changes is Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at 17:15 CET, one hour before the first game of the week tips off. Also remember you can have as many as FIVE TEAMS per user, so if you don't have that many yet, feel free to create more! Our last weekly winner, Pep Ruiz of Spain, won a Molten official Euroleague ball and our brand new Euroleague Basketball Official Guide. Weekly winners also enter an end-of-season draw for more prizes. FANTASY CHALLENGE RUNDOWN
GROUP A

 Tau Ceramica

Tau Ceramica: Zoran Planinic has recovered from his foot injury and is ready to face RheinEnergie. Sergi Vidal is still sidelined, however. Luis Scola became the Euroleague's December MVP, chosen by the organization.

 Olympiacos

Olympiacos: Other than Arvydas Macijauskas, who is still sidelined, the Reds will have their full roster available. Once again, Alex Acker led five double-figure scorers for Olympiacos with 18 points in the Reds' home win against Climamio.

 Efes Pilsen

Efes Pilsen: Efes has its entire roster available for the game against Le Mans, including newcomer Laron Profit. Marcus Haislip earned Week 9 MVP honors with a career-high 33 points to lead Efes Pilsen to a 91-76 win over RheinEnergie.

 Climamio Bologna

Climamio Bologna: Steffen Hamann reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Climamio. As such, Tyus Edney and Daniele Cavaliero will see more minutes at the point guard spot. James Thomas grabbed 19 boards against Olympiacos in Game 9..

 Prokom

Prokom: Tomas Pacesas is recovered from his shoulder problems and played in a Polish League game this weekend. Justin Hamilton sat out this weekend and but may be back against Olympiacos. Huseyin Besok had a season-high 18 points against Le Mans.

 Dynamo Moscow

Dynamo Moscow:Big man Lazaros Papadopoulos missed the game against Tau due to a last-minute injury but is expected to play against Climamio in Bologna. Miroslav Raicevic is available to make his Dynamo debut against Tau. Sergey Romanov remains sidelined, joined now by Andrei Trushkin and Andrei Ivanov.

 Le Mans

Le Mans: Le Mans has no injury problems for its game against Efes. Eric Campbell shined with 13 points and 9 rebounds against Prokom last week. He is the 10th top rebounder in the competition.

 RheinEnergie

RheinEnergie: Both Marcus Faison and Alvin Jones left the team before the end of 2006. RheinEnergie moved fast in the free agents market and landed swingman Devin Green, who is ready to make his Euroleague debut against Tau Ceramica.
GROUP B

 Maccabi

Maccabi Elite: Star forward Tal Burstein is back with the team and should play his first 2006-07 Euroleague game against Lottomatica Roma after recovering from a long injury. Yotam Halperin has played 30 minutes or more in each of the last four Maccabi games, in which he averaged 13.7 points.

 Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos: Despite playing without Sani Becirovic, Tony Delk, Robertas Javtokas and Fragiskos Alvertis, Panathinaikos rallied to beat Cibona 75-78 in Zagreb. All these players are available, but Mike Batiste will be sidelined this week against Olimpija due to a calf injury.

 Unicaja

Unicaja: Unicaja announced the loan of big man Erazem Lorbek to Benetton, where he is not eligible to play during the regular season. In the same way, Unicaja's newest player, Marcus Faison, is inelibigle for Euroleague games unless the team reaches the Top 16, because he came from RheinEnergie Cologne and no player can join two different teams in the regular season. All-time Euroleague leading scorer Marcus Brown is out indefinitely for Unicaja, while e Carlos Cabezas missed a couple of practives last week but will be able to face Cibona. Point guard Pepe Sanchez has recovered from his leg injury, too.

 Cibona

Cibona: Cibona has lost Vedran Morovic for 8 to 10 weeks due to injury, while both Goran Vrbanc is questionable this week against Unicaja. Brent Wright is fourth in the index rating standings at 20 per game.

Union Olimpija

Union Olimpija: Saso Ozbolt is out long-term with an injury. Other than that, Olimpija is healthy. Marko Milic scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a losing effort against Lottomatica Roma. It was his third double-double this season.

 Partizan

Partizan: Partizan is healthy and in its best Euroleague season in recent years. Despite registering a 85-83 road loss in Tel Aviv, Predrag Drobnjak had 23 points and a season-high 16 rebounds, while Uros Tripkovic scored a season-high 20 points.

 Virtus Roma

Lottomatica Roma: Playmaker Vlado Ilievski has agreed to terminate his contract with Lottomatica. As such, Mire Chatman will see extended playing time against Maccabi. Ognjen Askrabic returned to action this weekend and should play this week, too.

 DKV Joventut Badalona

DKV Joventut: Andy Betts stays sidelined, even when he should be ready to play soon. Meanwhile, Drew Sullivan did not travel to Belgrade due to a leg injury. Ferran Laviña, however, is recovered and ready to face Partizan.
GROUP C

 CSKA Moscow

CSKA Moscow: CSKA has no significant injuries, as everyone is available against Pau-Orthez. Aleksey Savrasenko paced CSKA in a 62-65 road win against Aris with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Trajan Langdon chipped in 13 points, too.

 Barcelona

Winterthur FC Barcelona: Gianluca Basile will miss 7 to 10 days with an abductor injury. Otherwise, Barcelon  has no significant injuries. Juan Carlos Navarro is the Euroleague top scorer (19.1 ppg.), but he combined for just 21 points in the last couple of games.

 Benetton Treviso

Benetton Treviso: Marcus Goree has not travelled to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce due to a calf injury. As such, Spencer Nelson, Joey Beard and Angelo Gigli are set to see more minutes around the baskets. Richie Frahm is still out. Nikos Zisis had 21 points against Barcelona in Game 9.

 Fenerbahce Ulker

Fenerbahce Ulker: Fenerbahce will miss rebounding ace Mirsad Turkcan, who has an elbow injury. Otherwise, the team has no significant injury problems for its game against Benetton. Omer Onan and Kaspars Kambala each had 13 points in Fenerbahce's last game, a road loss against Pau.

 Zalgiris

Zalgiris: Power forwards Hanno Mottola and Paulius Jankunas played against Eldo Napoli in Game 9 and should be available to face Barcelona this week. Playmaker Marko Popovic, Mantas Kalnietis and Kirk Penney, however, are questionable for this game. Tanoka Beard posted 26 points and 9 rebounds in Naples.

 Pau-Orthez

Pau-Orthez: Fred Fauthoux and Ian Mahinmi have recovered from their respective injuries and will travel to Moscow to face CSKA. Xane D'Almeida and Thierry Rupert, however, are sidelined for the game against the Euroleague champion.

 Aris TT Bank

Aris TT Bank: Terrell Castle underwent an appendicitis operation and will be sidelined for two weeks. Meanwhile, Panagiotis Karavanas has been discarded for this game, as Aris has 13 players available. Jeremiah Massey and Mike Wilkinson are eighth and 16th, respectively, in the index rating standings.

 Eldo Napoli

Eldo Napoli: Napoli won two of its last three games and is ready for more in Thessaloniki. Tyrone Ellis has averaged 4 assists in the last 3 games, since he became the starting point guard. Michel Morandais grabbed 10 rebounds against Zalgiris in Game 9.
