Benetton bags top prospect Donatas Motiejunas

The promising center, who is among the top prospects in basketball, signed a multi-year to play in Treviso. Motiejunas (212, 18) arrives from Zalgiris Kaunas, where he made his Euroleague debut as a 17-year-old during the 2007-08 season. He has dominated the European junior circuits to date and was the MVP of the European Under-18 Championships last summer when he averaged 18.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for the Lithuanian national team, picking up a sliver medal along the way. Last month he played at the European U-20 Championships in Rhodes, posting 7.2 points, 4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 19 minutes over nine games.
