Benetton bags top prospect Donatas Motiejunas
Donatas Motiejunas (Photo: FIBA Europe/Harry Zampetoulas)Benetton Basket Gioco Digitale, one of the top club's in Europe for developing young stars, has picked up another rising star in Donatas Motiejunas. The promising center, who is among the top prospects in basketball, signed a multi-year to play in Treviso. Motiejunas (212, 18) arrives from Zalgiris Kaunas, where he made his Euroleague debut as a 17-year-old during the 2007-08 season. He has dominated the European junior circuits to date and was the MVP of the European Under-18 Championships last summer when he averaged 18.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for the Lithuanian national team, picking up a sliver medal along the way. Last month he played at the European U-20 Championships in Rhodes, posting 7.2 points, 4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 19 minutes over nine games.
