ASVEL BASKET inks T.J. Parker
TJ Parker (Photo: Bertrand Duperrin)Asvel Basket announced the signing of combo-guard T.J. Parker, who looks to bounce back from an injury that cost him most of last season. Parker (187, 25) suffered a knee injury during the preseason with SLUC Nancy and was only available for five French League games at the end of the season. Parker is the brother of France national team and NBA star Tony Parker, who is a part owner of Asvel Basket. He played for Nancy in the 2007-08 ULEB Cup, averaging 4.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in a part-time starting role. Parker played a similar role as Nancy won the 2008 French League title. Previously he had played in France with Racing Paris and in the United States at Northwestern University. Parker will get a chance to prove himself early in training camp since a number of Asvel players, including guards Aymeric Jeanneau and Kristjan Kangur, will start late due to national team duty.
