Regal FC Barcelona inks Lorbek for three years
A two-time Euroleague individual award winner is changing Final Four teams with the announcement on Tuesday that Erazem Lorbek has signed a three-year deal for Regal FC Barcelona. Lorbek (208, 29) was a second-team all-Euroleague selection last season while helping CSKA Moscow reach the title game, where it lost by a single basket. Lorbek put up averages of 12 points and 5 rebounds per game while making 60% of his two-point shots in his first and only season with CSKA. Last season marked Lorbek's second Final Four appearance, after he had helped Fortitudo Bologna reach the 2004 Final Four in Tel Aviv. In the first of two more seasons with Fortitudo, he was named the Euroleague's Rising Star Trophy winner for players under 21. From Bologna, Lorbek split the 2006-07 season with Unicaja of Spain and Benetton Treviso of Italy before rebounding with a a big 2007-08 season at Lottomatica Roma, for whom he averaged 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds.
