Alba Berlin brings in big man Kenan Bajramovic
Alba Berlin signed veteran power forward Kenan Bajramovic for the coming season. Bajramovic (206, 28) arrives from Turk Telekom Ankara, which he joined midway through last season and recorded 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in 14 games as the club reached the Turkish League semifinals. He has past Euroleague experience in the form of one season at Lietuvos Rytas, in which Bajramovic posted 11.1 points in 19 games as the club advanced to the Top 16. He has also played for Bosna Sarajevo and Celik Zenica in his native Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Azovmash Mariopul and BC Kyiv in Ukraine. Among his career highlight are a pair of Ukrainian League titles in 2006 and 2007 as well as reaching the FIBA EuroCup final in 2007. He also won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup and League titles with Bosna in 2005. Bajramovic comes to camp in good form after averaging 10.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1 block for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in the recent EuroBasket 2009 Additional Qualifying Round. With the news of the signing, Berlin announced that power forward Ansu Sesay would not be returning to the club this year.
"I am very pleased that we could sign Kenan Bajramovic," head coach Luka Pavicevic said. "He is an excellent player for us and has already proved his class at the highest European level. I hope that he soon joins us, so we can work quickly together on the Euroleague qualifying games."
