OLYMPIACOS bolsters attack with Beverley
Patrick Beverley signed with Olympiacos (Photo: bcdnepr.dp.ua)Olympiacos added more quality and depth to its backcourt with the signing of combo guard Patrick Beverley. He arrives from Ukrainian club BC Dnipro, where he averaged 16.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.3 blocks last season. Beverley (185, 21) first made a name for himself playing college basketball at the University of Arkansas, where he was named Southeastern Conference newcomer and freshman of the year in 2007. After a second strong season with the Razorbacks, Beverley took his game to Europe and Dnipro. Among his other career highlights were representing his native Unites States at the 2007 World Junior Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, taking home a silver medal.
