Orleans extends head coach Herve through 2014

 Entente Orleanaise Loiret has given head coach Philippe Herve a strong show of confidence ahead of its first Euroleague qualifying game, signing him to a four-year contract extension through 2014. Club CEO Christophe Dupont made the announcement at a team event on Tuesday. Herve, 46, joined Orleans at the start of the 2005-06 season when it was still in the second division in France and has guided it to the Pro A league for the first time and then last season to finish as the French League runner-up and the La Semaine des As Cup runner-up. He was also named the French League’s Coach of the Year last season. He has previously coached Chalon-sur-Saone and Asvel Basket. Orleans plays Belgium champion Spirou Basket on September 29 and October 2 in a home-and-away series in the first of two qualifying rounds to secure a berth to the regular season.
