Nizhny Novgorod announced on Thursday the addition of shooting guard Rihards Kuksiks until the end of the 2015-16 campaign. Kuksiks (1.98 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Avtodor Saratov, where he was averaging 1.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in just two appearances. Before Avtodor, Kuksiks had also played in Jekabpils, where he started this season (15.0 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.0 spg) and VEF Riga of Latvia, Budivelnik of Ukraine, where he coincided with Nizhny coach Ainars Bagatskis and won the national league, and also in Spain with Valencia Basket and Lagun Aro. He is also an international player for Latvia, and took part in the 2011 and 2013 EuroBaskets. He appeared in two Eurocup seasons with Valencia (2011-12) and Budvelnik (2012-13) and averaged 6.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 14 games combining both seasons.
