Galatasaray, Arroyo and Maric part ways

Point guard Carlos Arroyo and big man Aleks Maric have reached an agreement with Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul to terminate their contract, as both players have been des-registered from the competition. Arroyo (1.88 meters, 35 years old) joined Galatasaray in January 2013 and led Galatasaray to the Euroleague playoffs last season and to consecutive Top 16 appearances in 2014 and 2015. Former Euroleague champ Maric (2.11 meters, 30 years old) arrived in Galatasaray last December.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the faithful fans of Galatasaray for the love and respect they have shown me over the last three years. You will always have a place in my heart," Arroyo said in a statesment. "I also would like to thank Coach Ataman for placing his utter confidence in me during these memorable years. I will forever be thankful for everything you have done for my career. To my teammates, thank you for pushing me and inspiring me when I needed it most! I will miss you guys the most."

Maric had just played seven Top 16 games with the Turkish team, as he averaged 1.7 points and 2.9 rebounds.
