Maccabi extends Landesberg for four more years

The morning after its Turkish Airlines Euroleague title defense ended with a 0-3 playoff series loss against Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv started building for next season with the announcement that forward Sylven Landesberg had signed a four-year contract extension. Landesberg (1.98 meters, 25 years old) has been one of Maccabi's best players off the bench, averaging 8.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in over 18 minutes per game this season. He started once in 19 appearances. In his third season with Maccabi, Landesberg had his best game yet last November, with 22 points, 9 rebounds and a performance index rating of 28 in a road win at Limoges CSP in the regular season.

Landesberg landed in Tel Aviv in the summer of 2012 after two seasons in Israel with Maccabi Haifa. After that, he kept progressing in the Tel Aviv team until lifting the continental crown last season in Milan. He has also won three Israeli Cup trophies with Maccabi as well as the 2013-14 Israeli League. "We see Sylvan as part of Maccabi's skeleton" Maccabi General Manager Daniel Federman stated. "This long contract indicates our desire to maintain continuity with our group." The contract signed between the two parties is for three seasons plus an option for a fourth one.
