Basile, Navarro out for Regal FCB
Gianluca Basile - Regal FC BarcelonaGroup A co-leader Regal FC Barcelona will miss some experience in its backcourt after the news on Monday that veterans Gianluca Basile and Juan Carlos Navarro will miss at least one game with left ankle sprains. Both players suffered their injuries during a weekend domestic victory in the Spanish League. Basile's injury is serious enough to sideline him for approximately a month, the team said in an announcement. He played only 6 minutes in the domestic game on Sunday. Navarro, last season's Euroleague MVP and the team's second-best scorer so far this season, will not travel to Lithuania this week to play Zalgiris. Navarro had played 24 minutes and scored 10 points Sunday before getting injured. The club said that Navarro's ankle will be re-examined after a few days to determine his mid-term availability to play. Barcelona had played the Euroleague season opener without another member of its backcourt, Jaka Lakovic, but he returned to action in Week 2, playing 10 minutes in the team's victory over Cibona. Lakovic played 15 minutes in the weekend domestic game.
