Countdown
CSKA's Sokolov out three weeks
Dmitry Sokolov - CSKA Moscow_22363The frontcourt injury problems of Euroleague runner-up CSKA Moscow will continue into the last month of 2009 as two more of the team's big men are injured and will be sidelined for at least the next game. For starting center Dmitry Sokolov, the news is worse, as he suffered torn ankle ligaments in a domestic game and will miss an estimated three weeks of action. Sokolov was averaging 6.5 points and making 71.4% of his two-point shots so far in his debut Euroleague season. He will be joined for at least a week on the injured list by Andrey Vorontsevich, who damaged his left knee ligaments. Vorontsevich will miss a week to 10 days, the team said. The anchor of CSKA's frontcourt, three-time Euroleague champion Matjaz Smodis, has not played yet this season due to back problems.
