Theo Papaloukas ties single-game assists mark
Theo Papaloukas - OlympiacosFormer Euroleague MVP Theo Papaloukas added another record to his list of achievements on Wednesday when he dished 14 assists in Olympiacos's 84-88 come-from-behind victory at Entente Orleanaise. Papaloukas, already the Euroleague career leader in assists with 778, tied Tyus Edney for the single game mark as well. Edney achieved that feat with Benetton Treviso against Olympiacos in February 2004. Papaloukas now has four of the best 10 single-game assist totals after dishing 13 in the Quarterfinal Playoffs last season with Olympiacos against Real Madrid and 12 twice with CSKA Moscow – once in March 2008 against Lottomatica Roma and in January 2007 against Fenerbahce Ulker. In each of those games, Papaloukas's teams won by a comfortable margin. This time it was much closer and greatly assisted by Linas Kleiza's 19 fourth-quarter points.
