Milano loses Acker long-term
|
Armani Jeans Milano will try to survive the Euroleague regular season without any more help from one of its top off-season signings, swingman Alex Acker, who will miss the next two months with a muscle tear. Acker (195, 26) was averaging 8.8 points and 2.8 rebounds through the first four Euroleague games for Milano. He was also second on the team in minutes played, 27.26 per game. Acker missed the last two games due to the leg injury, but after further examination, the team announced on Monday that he will take up to seven weeks to get back to action. Acker played two previous Euroleague seasons, with Olympiacos in 2006-07, when he debuted as one of the competition's top scorers, with 14.5 points per game, and the following season at Regal FC Barcelona, where his contribution dropped to 5.5 points on average.
