Week 10 co-MVPs: Rubio, Siskauskas
The 2009-10 regular season ended with a former Euroleague MVP and a rising star of world basketball sharing the honor for Week 10's top individual performance. Ramunas Siskauskas of CSKA and Ricky Rubio of Regal FC Barcelona each posted performance index ratings of 33, leading their teams to finish first in their respective groups. Siskauskas, the 2007-08 Euroleague MVP, paced CSKA's 85-84 home win against Caja Laboral with 21 points while making 3 of 4 three-point shots. He added 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 6 fouls drawn for his 33 index rating. Rubio, still a teen though in his third Euroleague season, led Barcelona's home win against Montepaschi with 14 points, making 9 of 10 free throws to go with 10 assists, 3 rebounds, 4 steals and 9 fouls drawn. His scoring and assist totals were his new Euroleague career highs. Following the co-MVPs in third place was Preston Shumpert of Efes Pilsen, with a 26 index rating. Shumpert scored 21 points on 4-for-5 three-point accuracy while posting 5 rebounds and 3 steals in a road win over Entente Orleanaise that let Efes reach the Top 16. Three more players headed to the Top 16 - Mike Batiste of Panathinaikos, Viktor Khryapa of CSKA and Marko Tomas of Cibona - each had index ratings of 25 to tie for fourth place in Week 10.
Individual highs: Slavko Vranes of Partizan, 5 blocks
Tomas of Cibona and David Logan of Asseco Prokom were Week 10's best scorers with 24 points apiece. Linas Kleiza of Olympiacos finished as the regular season's top scorer at 17.6 points per game. Khryapa of CSKA led all rebounders by pulling down 10 in his team's home win against Caja Laboral. Despite not playing this week, Travis Watson of Zalgiris finishes as the regular season rebounding king with an average of 10.7 over nine games. Rubio was the only player to record double-digit assists in Week 10 with his 10 against Montepaschi. Omar Cook of Unicaja finished the regular season first in assists at 6 per night. Jamont Gordon of Cibona and Sean Singletary of Caja Laboral each collected 5 steals in Game 10. Bojan Popovic of Lietuvos Rytas had more steals than anyone else in the regular season, 2.4 on average. Slavko Vranes of Partizan Belgrade recorded 5 blocks against Olympiacos this week, and also ended as the regular season leader in this category, with 1.9 per game. Khryapa, Rubio and Jared Homan of Maroussi BC were the only players to register double-doubles in Week 10.
