Fenerbahce signs two-time champ Sloukas

Fresh off its maiden Turkish Airlines Euroleague appearance, Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul has turned to a core member of the recent Olympiacos Piraeus dynasty to strengthen its backcourt. Fenerbahce signed two-time Euroleague champion Kostas Sloukas to a three-year deal on Monday. Sloukas (1.90 meters, 25 years old) has spent his entire professional career with the Reds, spare on season on loan at Aris Thessaloniki. He helped Olympiacos reach three Euroleague Championship Games in four seasons, including winning the titles in 2012 and 2013. Last season Sloukas averaged 6.7 points and 3.1 assists in 18 minutes over 29 Euroleague games off the bench last season. He has totaled 102 Euroleague appearances over the past four seasons; Sloukas made his Euroleague debut for the Reds in the 2009-10 season opener. In addition to his Euroleague crowns, Sloukas amassed two Greek League championships, one Greek Cup and the 2013 Intercontinental Cup with the Reds. He has also played for the Greek national team at the European championships and World Cup and won two gold and three silver medals for Greece at the junior levels.
