Laboral Kutxa unveils innovative e-sports club: Baskonia-Atlantis

Laboral Kutxa Vitoria has embarked on an innovative partnership with the Atlantis e-sports club to launch the first multigame e-sports club in the world. Baskonia-Atlantis will be composed of 15 members that will compete in five different teams representing the Baskonia brand.

The Atlantis e-sports club is relatively new to the video gaming scene, but has emerged as one of Spain’s best clubs and competes in numerous international competitions. Now it will do so wearing the Baskonia colors and bringing the recognizable basketball team’s likeness to a new world of fans. As one of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague’s long-standing and highly-competitive clubs, Baskonia will share its brand marketing and commercial experience with Atlantis and help it develop a professional business plan. Atlantis has already partnered with Mars Gaming, which markets gaming equipment throughout Europe.

Baskonia-Atlantis will focus initially on five competitive teams in League of Legends, FIFA, NBA2K, DOTA2 and HearthStone. E-sports is one of the fastest-growing fields in the world; some 205 million people watched or played e-sports in 2014.
