Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul reached an agreement with forward Luigi Datome to work together for the next two seasons, the club announced Tuesday. Fenerbahce retains the option to extend his contract until the end of the 2017-18 season, as well. Datome (2.03 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Boston of the NBA, where he averaged 4.7 points in 21 games. He had an eventful 2014-15 season in which he also played for Detroit of the NBA and Grand Rapids of the D-League. Datome returns to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague for the first time since the 2010-11 season, when he averaged 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds with Lottomatica Rome. In his five Euroleague seasons with Rome and Montepaschi Siena, Datome accumulated 276 points and 141 rebounds in 45 career games. He also played for Legea Scafati in Italy. He helped Siena win an Italian League title in 2004 and is a regular member of his national team. He also helped Italy get a bronze medal at the 2007 U20 European Championships.
