FCB Lassa inks teenage star Kurucs for four years
FC Barcelona Lassa added another of Europe's top young talents by signing Latvian teenager Rodions Kurucs to a four-year contract. Kurucs (2.06 meters, 17 years old) arrives from VEF Riga, for whom he scored 7 points in seven minutes his Eurocup debut last season. A the junior level, Kurucs starred for VEF and was the fourth-best scorer at the ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT finals in Madrid with 15.7 points per game. He also posted 5 rebounds per game and was top 10 in the event with 2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Kurucs has represented Latvia at the junior levels; he was named to the all-tournament team after leading Latvia to the title game at the 2014 U-16 European championships. Kurucs becomes the first Latvian national to sign for Barcelona.
